PERSONAL BELONGINGS

What do I need to pack for camp?
In the Camp Necessities you will find the necessities suggested. Please note that the items below are strictly prohibited as stated in the Camp Rules. The Organizing Committee will NOT be responsible for any losses and / or damages of items resulting directly / indirectly from the youth’s participation in this Camp. Indemnify the organizers from any claims made by any related parties.

My child wants to bring mobile phone during the camp?
No. If he/she must bring the mobile phone, please make sure the mobile phone is in silent mode at all the time when the activities are being carried out. They are only allowed to make any phone call during break/rest time. The organizer will not hold any responsible for any losses or damages of the participants’ personal property.

Can I pack some foods or beverages for my child to bring along?
Yes. The Camp Organizer discourages any perishables or junk foods in the camp, the participants will be provided with five (5) meals daily. Unless, there are special dietary needs and this has to be arranged with the Camp Organizer.


TRANSPORTATION

Is bus provided from YMCA KL to the camp site is FREE?
Yes. Bus from YMCA KL to The campsite provided by the organizer is FREE. You must make sure that you completed the transportation information in the registration form in order for you to reserve and enjoy your FREE and comfortable coach seating. The departure and return points are:

DEPARTURE: 17TH DECEMBER 2009 (THURSDAY)
YMCA Brickfield (Entrance) by 8.00am. Buses will leave the station at 8.30 am sharp.

RETURN : 20TH DECEMBER 2009 (SUNDAY)
YMCA Brickfield (Entrance) at 4.00 pm to pick up the participants for home.

How do I get to YMCA KL?
YMCA KL are located opposite KL Sentral which is the centre of modern transportation and within walking distance to banks and food outlets. Only 10-15 minutes away by Putra LRT and Monorail to KLCC, Central Market, Berjaya Times Square, Bukit Bintang Walk and other major Shopping Centres and also 28 minutes away from KLIA via KLIA Express. Refer to Transportation for more information.

How do I get to Benum Hill Eco Resort, Raub, Pahang?

What happens if I arrive late at YMCA KL on the December 11th 2008 and the buses have left?
Please call and inform us 30 minutes before the departure time, in case, you facing any unforeseen delays. We will do our best to make an alternative arrangement, if possible.

What happens if I cannot arrive between before the Opening Ceremony Start?
It is best advised that all campers be there for the opening ceremony. Campers using their own transport must ensure that they are at the camp venue in time. The final program will be posted in this website in the near future.

What happens if I need to pick up my child early?
These arrangements should be discussed with the Camp Organizer prior to the camp, preferably during registration. It will only be allowed due to the happening of any unforeseen circumstances or emergency.

What happens if I cannot arrive to pick up my child until late on the day that camp closes?
It is advisable and preferable that the campers are picked up at the said time. A reasonable delay is accepted.

Can my son/daughter go home with another family member or friend?
The Camp Organizer must be given prior notice with written parent/guardian consent on such arrangements. Approval must be obtained from the Camp Organizer concerning the safety and security of the participant.

What happens if my child has a food allergy or special diet?
Camp committee will make special arrangement if participants informed us during registration, preferably 3 weeks before the camp. In some cases participants will bring their own supplement foods to ensure a full meal.

How do I know my child is safe?
We utilize a buddy system at camp site to ensure that no participant is alone. For further information on the participants’ safety, the parent/guardian may contact the Camp Organizer.

My child wants to bunk with his/her best friend, is this possible?
No. The groups are pre-determined once registration is accepted based on the advice of our lead District Trainers to ensure the success of the participants in building their personal characteristics in line with the camp’s purpose.
